Dan Pitts

Dan Pitts grew up in Lexington, KY and earned a Mechanical Engineering degree at Vanderbilt University on an NROTC scholarship. He was a Navy Fighter pilot and flew combat missions in the First Gulf War then moved to the Washington DC area with his wife Paula. He earned an MBA from the University of Maryland and started a career in telecommunications and satellite networking. He worked in various Operations, Engineering and Sales Engineering roles at Bell Atlantic, UUNET, Hughes Network Systems, Level-3 Communications and currently leads Network Planning at Intelsat. He is also an adjunct Associate Professor of Digital Media and Web Technology at the University of Maryland University College. He lives in Frederick, MD has been married over 25 years and is blessed with two daughters.
