Sharman Badgett-Young

Sharman Badgett-Young is a voracious reader of multiple genres including thrillers, science fiction, fantasy, contemporary, and horror. Once she had pried her nose out of her books, she started writing a fantasy novel. She was in sixth grade. The plot now resides in her idea queue.

Her work as a technical writer, researcher, librarian, and marriage and family therapist, all inform her novels. In all genres. suspense is her specialty because she loves feeling her blood pump as she turns the pages. Her three published books are KILN ZONE (mystery), DREAM MIRE (mystery/contemporary), and TRIUNE HELIX (thriller), available in paperback and ebook.

In May of 2018, Sharman took second place from EPIC Writers in Adult Prose for her short story, "Endings" which also received first place in non-fiction writing at the 2014 Write On the Sound (WOTS) Conference in Edmonds, WA. When she heard about Nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month) in 2012 she dove into the competition with only two weeks to write. Each November from 2013 through 2017, she completed a 50,000-word novel draft, becoming a Nanowrimo winner. The Santa Barbara County Fair awarded her ribbons for her poetry as well.

Sharman lives in the Pacific Northwest where, when not writing, she spends rainy weekdays in the pottery studio, rainy weekends searching forests for hidden geocaches, and rainy evenings curled up with a book or reading to her husband.
