Dr. Nathan T. Elkins is specialist in Greek and Roman Art and Archaeology. He studies and writes about the political history of the Roman Empire via material and visual culture, especially through the lens of coinage and public building. Dr. Elkins is Deputy Director of the American Numismatic Society in New York and Editor (Ancient World) of the American Journal of Numismatics. Previously, he was Director of the Allbritton Art Institute and Associate Professor of Art History at Baylor University.
