Todd Elliott Franklin

Todd Elliott Franklin is a former principal in the Fairfax County Public School system in Great Falls, Virginia. Todd has served as a school-based administrator at both the elementary and middle school levels. Throughout his career, he has had the fortunate opportunity to work collaboratively with multiple teachers, school administrators, and central office personnel in the field of professional development. Some of those experiences have included leading the math and language arts vertical articulation teams in various schools at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Todd has also served, in the central office, as a special projects administrator for the teacher evaluation team in Fairfax County. In this role, he led both personal and online professional development around the instructional and leadership standards for teachers and administrators. His work also included training administrators and central office personnel on how to conduct online observations focused on best practices. As a collaborative team member, with his time in the central office, Todd helped author the language around the performance matrices and goal setting for teachers, administrators, and instructional resource professionals.

Early in his career, Todd served as a school counselor and taught peer helping, on the elective cycle, at the middle school level. In this role, he also served as the director of programs for the Northern Virginia Counselor’s Association chapter in Fairfax, Virginia. After working in these roles, Todd served as an assistant principal at the middle school level before becoming an elementary school principal. These experiences have provided Todd an opportunity to pursue his passion for working with teachers and administrators in the field of education and mindset strategies that work. He has spent his professional career observing and studying how effective teachers and administrators pursue their love for the profession while adopting a productive mindset that is based on flexibility and focused on solutions. Currently, Todd is serving as the Manager of Career Pathways for the Fairfax County Public School system.
