Diane Simmons

Diane Simmons is a co-director of National Flash Fiction Day and a former director of the UK Flash Fiction Festival. She is an editor for FlashFlood, a former reader for the international Bath Short Story Competition and has been a judge of several flash fiction competitions including Flash 500, Micro Madness, Hysteria, the NFFD Micro Competition and numerous flash fiction festival online competitions.

Diane has been widely published and placed in numerous writing competitions. 'Finding a Way', her debut collection of flash fictions on the theme of grief, was published by Ad Hoc Fiction in February 2019 and her historical flash fiction novella 'An Inheritance' was published by V. Press in February 2020. Both were shortlisted in The Saboteur Awards. Her latest novella-in-flash 'A Tricky Dance' was published by Alien Buddha Press in January 2024. Her novella-in-flash 'William Prichard & Co' was published by Arroyo Seco Press in August 2024.
