Jonathan Reeder, born in upstate New York, studied at Rice University (B.Mus.) and the Eastman School of Music (M.Mus.). His musical wanderlust took him to Mexico, Spain, Hong Kong and the Netherlands, where he has lived since 1990.
Jonathan enjoys a dual career as a literary translator and performing musician. Alongside his work as a professional bassoonist he translates opera libretti and essays on classical music, as well as contemporary Dutch fiction by authors including Conny Braam, Peter Buwalda, Bram Dehouck, Christine Otten, A.F.Th. van der Heijden and Martin Michael Driessen.
