簡英郎(CHIEN YING-LANG)1951年生於臺灣省雲林縣,國立台灣師範大學音樂系畢業主修聲樂,留義,師事其父簡五石與林秋錦、戴序倫、吳文修、馬拉斯波那(GIANPLERO MALASPINA)等教授,曾任教於國立台灣師範大學音樂系、台南女子學院音樂系、明志科技學院並曾任中山大學醫學院、輔仁大學、省交響樂團、基隆教師等合唱團指揮,1988年率基隆教師合唱團應邀赴新加坡演唱、交流頗獲好評。1976年於台中市中興堂舉行首場個人獨唱會。2012年退休,是年應「臺灣商報」之邀發表「竹間歌樂六講」連載於該商報。
退休後從事歌唱的整理並與大陸泉州市天籟時空文化傳播公司結盟,研究如何改革歌唱的論述與練唱方法的突破。
CHIEN YING-LANG, born in Yunlin County in 1951, graduated from the Department of Music, National Taiwan Normal University, major of vocal music. Studied at Italy, he is disciple of his father Chien Wu-shih, LinQiu-Jin, Dai Xulun, Willian Wu, and Gianplero Malaspina. He taught at the Department of Music of National Taiwan Normal University, the Department of Music of Tainan Girls’ College, and Ming Chi Institute of Technology, and was the chorus conductor of Zhongshan School of Medicine of Sun Yat-sen University, Fu Jen Catholic University, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Keelung Teacher Chorus, etc. In 1988, Keelung Teacher Chorus’ performance in Singapore had been acclaimed under his leadership. In 1976, he had his solo concert in Zhong Shin Hall, Taichung City. He retired in 2012 and published "Six Speeches of Music in the Bamboo Forest" with the invitation of "TBN TIMES".
After retirement, he has been committed to data compilation of singing and has made an alliance with Tien Lai Shi Gon Wen Hua Chuan Bo Company of Quanzhou City, Mainland China, aiming to reform the singing theories and make breakthrough of singing methods.
