Beatriz Ruiz Silva Ph.D

Tita Bety was born in Mexico and she obtained her PhD from the University of British Columbia, Canada. After a post-doctoral stay at Columbia University in New York and another at the University of California in Los Angeles, teaching was her main occupation for twenty-six years. She worked as a chemistry professor at East Los Angeles College and taught summer classes at the University of California, Los Angeles, and Harbin University in China. Her passion for education and the birth of her grand kids Leo and then Emi, catalyzed the creation of the series of letters Cartas de Tita Bety. Letters written from the heart to teach, to leave a legacy.
