L. E. Daniels

Based in Queensland, Australia and Rhode Island, USA, Lauren Elise Daniels launched her career with Ziff-Davis Publishing in Boston after attaining her BA in Creative Writing from Fairfield University in '92. She completed her MFA at Emerson College with Andre Dubus III, Sam Cornish and M.G. Stephens in '99.

An author and editor, Lauren has edited over 100 titles of fiction and non-fiction. Her writing has appeared in commercial and literary sources since 1987, commencing with first prize in the Newport Poetry Contest.

Lauren has served as a literary panelist, judge and mentor and directs the Brisbane Writers Workshop. The manuscript for 'Serpent's Wake' shortlisted with the international Half the World Global Literati Award 2016, ranking 4th in the top 40 for the People’s Choice Award and was published in 2018. The author craft book, 'Winning Short Story Competitions: Essential Tools for Serious Writers' co-authored with Cate Sawyer was published in 2020 and is still a bestseller for Hawkeye Publishing. The anthology from Rowland Books, 'Generation X-ed' features her short story, "Birnam Hall" and Timber Ghost Press's 'Out of Time: True Paranormal Encounters' published her non-fiction story, "Spooned by the Dead."
