Donna Marie West

Donna Marie West is an educator, translator, editor, and author. She has published over 500 fiction and non-fiction pieces in a variety of Canadian and American magazines and e-zines, such as WHAT IF?, HORSE CANADA, MYSTERIES MAGAZINE, THE WERE-TRAVELLER, HALLOWEENFOREVERMORE, and BEYOND CENTAURI. She is also a contributor to a number of anthologies, including SCARLET WHISPERS, DEATH AWAITS, THE GRAYS, IN SHAMBLES, SPOOKY HALLOWEEN DRABBLES 2014 and 2015, MORBID METAMORPHOSIS, AND THE WORLD WILL BURN, CROSSROADS IN THE DARK Vol. 1, 2, 4, and 5.

As an editor, she has worked on dozens of novels in various genres, but has a slight preference for horror and the paranormal.

HAUNTED HORROR, her first book, is a collection of short stories and poems in collaboration with New Zealand author John Irvine. Unfortunately it is now out of print.

THE MUD MAN, her new and very different novel from Manta Press, was released on April 19, 2022. It has consistently been receiving 5-star reviews.

NEXT IN LINE, her first novel which went out of print when its publisher closed their doors, was re-released in September 2024 by The Wild Rose Press.

Having retired from her day job in 2023, Donna spends most of her time as a freelance editor, helping other authors with their work. In her free time, she loves reading, writing, and doing research for her current projects. She lives in Quebec, Canada, with her long-time partner and three beloved cats.
