Donald J. Peacock

Don Peacock was born in Indiana, moved to New Orleans during grade school and received a BS in Physics from Tulane University. He accepted a Physics position at Wright-Patterson AFB and worked for the Air Force for 35 years. After he retired Don started taking senior classes at the University of Dayton. One of the courses was on writing short fiction stories. That class led to the writing and publication of three books.

My first book, ‘A Peacock Speaks’ is a delightful collection of twenty memoirs and stories. I explore subjects as wide as bird behavior, human nature, boating, male-female relationships, cats, and the fine art of grandfathering. You will also find a one page story about a wedding and a seven page story about a young girl and her cat.

My second book, ‘A Peacock Speaks Again’ is a collection of forty fictional short stories ranging from authors trying to get published to stories about people in various situations, as well as stories based on puns. Many of the stories have surprise endings as well as some with happy endings between people. It also includes some holiday stories.

My third book, ‘The Deborah Project’ is a collection of nineteen fiction stories about different Deborah's and what they are involved with. Each of the stories has a surprise pun ending.

Genealogy is another of Don’ interest which resulted in a family history centered around his father (Dr. Charles L. Peacock) who worked on a top secret project during WWII. Dr. Peacock became chairman of the Physics Department at Tulane University.

Don experienced many interests during retirement years. These included golf, tennis, and remote control sail boating. Don was president of the American Model Yachting Association and travelled extensively all over the U.S. participating in RC sailing regattas. All of these interests provided story material and helped in writing the three books he published. A description of them follows and we hope you enjoy reading them.
