As a veterinarian of 35 years, I traveled from Wisconsin to Washington, then to Iowa, and now to Maine. Most of that time was spent in the rescue/shelter area, taking in animals no one else could take in. These included Black bears, pythons over 20ft long, cougars, and American alligators, to name a few. My business, Animals All About, Inc., and non-profits Iowa Humane Alliance Veterinary Services and Witty Kitties Inc. (2000 to 2020) gave me the best, most trying, dangerous, and fulfilling years of my life.
When it comes to non-primate animals, my kids understand.
Though the stories are clever, true, and dear to my heart, I will make this book better with the next edition, which will include more details (and corrections of some), better editing, and new stories, including one about my driving a not-fit-for-the-road bus containing pot-bellied pigs, goats and cats over 1300 miles with only 2 hours of sleep, to my new home in Maine.
Who in their right mind does that?
