Neil Morrison

Neil Morrison (born 1944) – studied science at school, but went to Art School.

(The Glasgow School of Art -Scotland) where he subsequently taught for 30 years.

His profession is artist but his passion is music.

His paintings are in collections in Scotland, England, France, Germany and Holland — he has given Lute Song recitals, with his wife in all and more of these countries.

He has played for Her Majesty the Queen and recorded recitals for the BBC.

A 7 meter high sculpture stands in Scotland and the Morrison-made collection of early plucked instruments now lives in the Conservatoire, Aix en Provence, France.

He counts artists, musicians, a fundamental-particle physicist and engineers amongst his friends and has always been curious about how art, science and history are interwoven.

Teaching how to develop creative potential is not only possible but exciting.

Since retiring, he has spent many years in France and travelled extensively round the Mediterranean exploring the roots of western culture.
