Alan Manifold has been a member of the Bahá'í Faith for more than forty years and has been a fan of detective stories even longer than that. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. Before moving to Australia in 2012, he and his wife Lorraine lived in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge for five years. Alan is an internationally recognized expert in library automation and currently works for the State Library of Victoria in the heart of Melbourne. He and Lorraine started the Melbourne Bahá'í choir, Perfect Chord, and have also organised several Australian Bahá'í Choral Festivals. Alan has composed numerous pieces for choir. He and Lorraine became Australian citizens in 2017 and love their adopted home.
