Louisa C. Sciolla

Louisa is a resident of Venice, California. Venice is known for it's proximity to the beach and it's bohemian sensibility. Louisa started writing to process some life experiences including heartbreak, a cancer diagnosis and beginning graduate school for psychology while still recovering from a life saving surgery. This hobby became a habit and she found her self with over a thousand poems. Louisa says that "Poetry has become such powerful outlet for me that I plan to integrate it into my therapy practice someday. It's been incredibly healing and I'm so grateful that i started writing when I did". Louisa regularly writes about love, cancer, healing from both, the ocean, social norms and whatever she is inspired by in the moment. Sometimes she finds herself trying to get a poem entered into her phones notes at a red light or while waiting in line at Trader Joe's. Louisa writes what she wants, how she wants and plans to do so for the foreseeable future. Her poetry is visceral and honest, not always polished but always real.
