Arlessa R. Douglass

Author and singer, Arlessa Douglass overcomes her trials with living with depression by singing and writing. She is the eldest daughter of the Motivational speaker, author, and poet, Michelle Carter-Douglass. Arlessa a survivor of child abuse by her biological father, is currently working on her memoir entitled, “If You Stood In My Reflection . . .” describes her life as a survivor.

In her own words, “Dear dad, I forgive you. To those that talked about me and my family—I forgive you. I once thought I was not good enough to succeed. I once believed that I wasn’t smart enough to write and sing. My mother always told me I can do whatever I put my mind to. Through my talent, I will share my testimony. It is now my time 2 shine.
