Alex Lima

Alex Lima (Guayaquil, Ecuador) moved to Brooklyn at the age of fifteen. He completed his PhD in Hispanic Literatures at The Graduate Center, CUNY (2014). He has authored various poetry collections, Inverano (2008), Bilocaciones (2011), Alba (2015), Híbrida Cíclica (2017), Mesa de Contentos (2019) and Red Memo Book (2023). Other academic publications include his research about the Jesuit poet, Juan Bautista Aguirre, Conciencia lírica de la nación ecuatoriana (2017), and an anthology of Róger Santivañez’s oeuvre titled Santificado sea tu nombre (2020). Lima has also penned essays on colonial and contemporary poetry. He currently teaches as Adjunct Lecturer of Spanish at Stony Brook University. Alex Lima was recently presented with the “Sonia Manzano Vela” Award at the International Book Fair in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
