Chris Hildrew

Chris Hildrew was born in London in 1974 into a family of teachers: his Grandfather, parents, uncle and cousin are or were teachers. He is also married to a teacher!

After graduating from New College, Oxford, Chris started his career teaching English and Media Studies in the East Midlands. He moved to the South West in 2010 before landing his dream job as Headteacher of Churchill Academy & Sixth Form in North Somerset in January 2016.

Chris is passionate about excellence in state education. His particular interests lie in leadership and in mindset theory, which seeks to develop positive attitudes to learning to maximise achievement.
