Chandra Broadnax-Payne grew up the daughter of a single mother in the projects in East New York, where she lived an eventful life. She later became the first person in her immediate family to graduate from college. Upon attaining an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University, she built a career in human resources and used her success to create a scholarship to help students in underserved communities pay for college. After several years in the corporate world, she founded The Empowerment Movement and now shares her inspiring story as a published writer and motivational speaker, empowering women all over the world to embrace their inner greatness. As a motivational speaker Chandra delivers insightful, funny and eye-opening workshops. She has spoken at conferences alongside notable figures such as Judge, Author and TV Personality Glenda Hatchett, and Blanca Cobb, nationally recognized body language expert. Previous clients include Hanesbrands Inc. and Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work has appeared in NiaMagazine, an online women’s magazine, and The Silent Journey by the International Library of Poetry. Chandra lives in a small town in North Carolina with her husband. When she’s not writing she enjoys doing Yoga, Pilates, practicing meditation and spending time in nature.
