Laural Farabaugh is an award winning children’s picture book author and illustrator who fell in love with children’s picture books after years of reading to her own children. With her passion for painting, she loves to create colorful illustration that light up the face of kids and write stories that parents or grandparents will love to read-a-loud. She has published 4 books. Where Do the Bugs Go When it Rains?, Where Do the Bugs Go When it Snows?, Where Do the Bugs Go to Sleep? and Finding Easter. Her interest in bugs came to her in an unusual way when her preschooler asked her, "Mom, where do the bugs go when it rains?" This simple question was the spark and inspiration for her series. She spent 10 years while raising her kids painting the 28 painting for her first book. She had spent those years dreaming of becoming an author and decided to make it a reality with my own books inspired by my children and love for art." Where Do the Bugs Go When it Rains? " was a 2020 Royal Dragonfly Book Award winner and "Where Do the Bugs Go to Sleep?" won a 2021 Purple Dragonfly Children's book award. Laural currently lives in the Baltimore area with her husband, 2 daughters and one adorable golden doodle. She works as a Infection Preventionist (Preventing infections for patients in the hospital) by day and writes and paints by night.
