Brian W. Becker

Dr. Brian W. Becker, Associate Provost of Mental Health and Wellbeing at Lesley University and Professor of Neuropsychology, holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and an M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. A licensed clinical psychologist in Massachusetts, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship in geriatric neuropsychology at West Los Angeles VA Healthcare Center and UCLA's Mary S. Easton Center for Alzheimer's Disease Research. In addition to his roles at Lesley University, Dr. Becker is an adjunct clinician at Boston University's Danielsen Institute, conducting psychological assessments for the Clergy in Crisis program. Dr. Becker is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal for Continental Philosophy of Religion and an Associate Editor for Routledge's Psychology & the Other Book Series. He authored "Evil and Givenness: The Thanatonic Phenomenon" (Lexington Books, 2022) and co-edited "Unconscious Incarnations: Psychoanalytic and Philosophical Perspectives on the Body" (Routledge, 2018), among other works. Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Dr. Becker runs a YouTube channel, Singularity as Sublimity, where he provides in-depth analyses of primary texts in philosophy and psychoanalytic theory.
