SEE NICOLE KOHR FOR UPDATED BIO.
Nicole Sigur is a storyteller, performer, advocate, and public relations professional. Nicole is also a cystic fibrosis patient and double lung transplant recipient. A theater kid since the age of five, Nicole found her love for children through the "My Name is Matthew Program" (theater for an audience of disabled children). From there, she received her B.A. in public relations with a minor in child psychology (graduating Summa Cum Laude). While doing so, she volunteered as the creative director for PRSSA, and became certified in the theory and practice of child life. She founded Colie Creations in 2018 while working at a non profit in Princeton, NJ, and published her first book "Two Cents". Today, Nicole is an accomplished writer having collaborated with over twenty different cystic fibrosis professionals. Her most recent project includes her in-development musical "Fall Risk", a new comedy about cystic fibrosis and transplant. "My Pants", her latest children's book about a neurodivergent child, will be available in April 2021.
“I spent much of my life picking apart the unsolicited advice that people gave me on a daily occasion. This led to a lifetime of MacGyver-like inventions and a deeper understanding of two-way communication. After a while, the sound of me beating to my own drum drowned out the unsolicited advice. This is coming from someone who works in fundraising; I know when solicitations aren't welcome. My hope is that this book brings awareness to the idea that not all two cents are valuable. Every child should have the ability to reach for their dreams, in spite of the criticism that they may face. One’s ability to decipher between helpful advice and hurtful advice is the most valuable gift. In the end, the decision is yours.”
