We are three ordinary women from
Swindon that got together to write
our story Tenacity. I am Julie Rose 66
born in Melbourne Australia. I am retired now after working for a large
company processing Mortgages for 35 years
Michelle Cowell 52 and Sarah Cowell
51 are sisters, Michelle is a customer
service assistant and Sarah works
in retail customer services. Three
years of hard work, a lot of research
and commitment, through personal
tragedy Tenacity was born. Since
finishing the book we have done many talks in schools and appeared
in the Oxford Mail the Sunday Express and a Dutch
newspaper. We also travelled the country carrying out book signings at Morrisons the Co Op and the Nationwide
Building Society, we have heard many
compelling stories from the general public.
We have also done many radio interviews
By invitation we attended
seminars and drug addiction
exhibitions in London. A high profile
presentation to psychologists in
Middlesbrough and a visit to a rehab in Holland
Our bundle of true life
stories contained in our book
Tenacity spans back decades.
Told through the words of two
mothers Julie and Marilyn, we
tell the story of our families
background from one side of
the world to the other.
But this compelling read has no
sugar coating as it takes you through
Julie’s and Marilyn’s struggle to
get their son’s off drugs. This story
highlight’s that addiction can happen
to anyone. Powerful and hard hitting,
this must read is an information tool
and education for young people and
parents. Our story will serve as a
deterrent against drugs. Young people and parents must read our story.
A message not to be ignored.
We would like to thank everyone for their support and thank Morrisons, Co Op and the Nationwide Building Society for believing in us.
