Chris Hartmann studied communication design at the Bergische University under the children's book author and illustrator Wolf Erlbruch. She worked for advertising agencies, publishers and TV. She also wrote for a daily newspaper. This was followed by book publications and a writing grant. She currently works in a city library and lives in Wuppertal.
After “Still water” (2016), “Long Breath” (2017), “Thick fur” (2019) and “Golden heart” (2021), her fifth book was published in 2024: “White Vest”. The Wuppertal regional crime books are aimed at young and young-at-heart crime fans and can be read regardless of the order. They are written in German.
The main character Tim Johann is currently investigating in the Wuppertal districts: Beyenburg, Ölberg/Elberfeld, Cronenberg, Lüntenbeck/Vohwinkel and Barmen! His sister Klara and of course his friends Frederick, Sonny, Narek and Milla help him. Of course, Frederick's father, Chief Inspector Hansen, doesn't like the fact that the young detectives are investigating on their own.
