Tracy Farr

Welcome, I hope you enjoy this creative guide to therapeutic metaphor. Throughout a happy childhood, spent on the East Yorkshire Coast, I shone in art and was blessed with an exceptional imagination. At twenty, seeking new direction following unfulfilled employment in offices and reception lobbies, I took a sabbatical in Canada, working as nanny to the children of an architect. The experience opened my eyes to many things, primarily the possibility of earning money from creativity. Returning to England, I enrolled on an art foundation course, followed by a progressive design degree at Leeds Polytechnic.

The education I received as a developing designer transported me from limited to limitless. This invaluable creative process remains central to my work always and is fundamental to the exercises I share in the book.

I was a grateful client of hypnotherapy in 2006 following a ‘fork in the road’ moment. Having spent many years creatively changing external spaces, I concluded the chance to facilitate internal change might prove more rewarding and re-trained!

Metaphor became my forte. It has always come naturally to me, my sieve, for sifting through the chaos of a creative mind to filter out the jumble. These days I practise hypnotherapy from home and teach the processes described in the book as a one day CPD course to fellow therapists. For further detail visit;
