Mick Morris

Mick Morris is a musician and writer based in the South East of England. He was educated at Dover Grammar School for Boys, Mid-Kent College, and the University of Kent at Canterbury (UKC). Noted for his versatility as a musician, a 2009 review by Gibson Keddie (ex-Guitarist Magazine) referred to his, "...... reluctance to be pigeon-holed into any of the usual rock, country, jazz, folk etc. genres".

In 2011, he collaborated on the theme music for the soundtrack of the award-winning film, `Watermark', winner of the 2012 Canterbury Culture Award for Excellence and described by Screen South as one of the "standout success stories of the region". His recording of an own-composition, `Too Good to be True' is featured in the film.

Mick has always written, mostly short stories, poems and academic texts, but until recently, his published work had been confined to strictly musical avenues: songs, CDs, articles for music magazines, and the guitar tutor book `Play Straight Away'. In 2017, he decided to publish a small book about the limerick as a form of poetry. `The Life of The Limerick' proved very popular and, encouraged by its success, he followed up with `Six-String Stories', a compendium of quotes, anecdotes, and short stories about the guitar and those that play it. His next book, `Tall Stories' is described as a collection of `fanciful tales of history and imagination'. Mick is the author of two novels, `Division', described as a dystopian Brexit Thriller and `Ralph', a mysterious tale of an impossibly old man. His most recent publication, `Jeff: The One, Alone', a new biography of the iconic guitarist Jeff Beck, regularly appears in AMAZON's music biographies best seller chart.
