Jimetta Mayne

Jimetta Mayne is a Life Coach and a story teller at heart. She first began crafting stories with her four children, and their friends as they were growing up. Story time wasn’t just something to get through quickly, but was a time to slow down, discover and have dialogue. Special moments were carved out in the day for connection to hear children’s hearts. Over the years she was lovingly known as Grandma Metta, as she continued telling stories and reading to her grandchildren, library groups and school classrooms. Parents would come and listen to how she engaged conversations with their children as she told a story or shared a book, coaxing the children to talk, through open ended questions.

After many requests, she published her first book “What If,” Adventures with Grandma Metta in 2014. It’s beautifully illustrated by her dear friend Heidi Reeves, whom as Jimetta shares, “when I experience her artwork, I want to jump into the scene and have an adventure.” So that’s what the children do as they read her book, they dive in and explore. As the reader interacts with the children they discover the children’s passions and desires through this interactive experience.

Her heart is to see children become powerful and confident adults, able to navigate their lives well. Her books empower not only children, but parents, grandparents and teachers to mentor their littles into living victoriously.
