Carl B. Parker

Carl Parker was born in New Brunswick, Canada on June 25, 1970. His early years were fraught with difficulty as he struggled to fit into the school system. These difficulties followed him into adulthood until being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at the age of 36.

To combat the anxiety and frustration he felt, Parker often turned to drawing, spending hours alone with his pad and pencil. This was his solace until one day, his grandmother, an oil painter herself, presented him with a brush and canvas and challenged him to paint something. As he painted, he felt an overwhelming sense that he was home, that this was what he was meant to do. And paint he did.

To date, Parker has amassed a worldwide following. His work can be found in homes and businesses in Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Australia, New Zealand and Portugal.

His first book, Carl Parker: A Life in Paint, is a retrospective look at his life through his paintings.

His second, and most recent book, Fake News, Real Paintings: An Artist's View of What's Wrong With the World, is a collection of his self-styled "protest pieces" along with commentary regarding the politics, personalities and societal trends that inspired them.
