Mira Harrison is a doctor-turned-writer, author of ADMISSIONS, a collection of linked stories about women working in a public hospital. In October 2020, Mira published NEW ADMISSIONS, a collection of four new stories set in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mira trained in NHS hospitals and followed a career in women’s health, drug safety (pharmacovigilance) and medical ethics. She is the first female President of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP) and is a strong advocate for women in leadership roles. Through writing fiction Mira aims to promote awareness of women’s work in all spheres of life, including motherhood and caring.
Dr Mira Harrison writes about the professional and personal interfaces in women's lives - and how love (and loss) change us, as we navigate our way through life, and death.
In addition to her short stories, Mira has written and edited two medical text books (Medicines for Women and An Introduction to Pharmacovigilance). For more information, see: https://www.miraharrison.com/
