J.H. Snider

J. H. Snider is President of iSolon, a 501(c)(3) public policy institute founded in 2007 that focuses on the most difficult areas of democratic reform, where elected officials have a conflict of interest in bringing about reforms that might reduce their own power. Its primary project is the State Constitutional Convention Clearinghouse and related state-specific clearinghouses that provide information on the 14 U.S. states that hold periodic state constitutional convention referendums. The clearinghouse project began in 2010.

From 2011 to 2013, Snider was a fellow at Harvard University’s Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, and during the Spring Semester 2008, a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy. From 2001 to 2007, he was a senior research fellow and research Director at the New America Foundation. He has also been a fellow at the American Political Science Association (1999 to 2000) and Northwestern University (1998 to 1999). He began his research career as a senior research assistant at the Harvard Business School, where he worked with the professors of entrepreneurship and leadership. He has a PhD in American Government from Northwestern University, an MBA from the Harvard Business School, and an AB in Social Studies from Harvard College.
