Carrie Hyde

Carrie Hyde is Associate Professor of English at UCLA. She writes about the history of U.S. citizenship, slavery and abolitionism, political philosophy and literature, and constitutional interpretation. Hyde's prehistory of citizenship--Civic Longing--won the 2018 Gustave O. Arlt Award in the Humanities. The Australian Book Review also recognized "Civic Longing" in its list of the best books of 2018.
