L.P. Kirkbride mainly writes historical romantic comedy novels, but also some poetry and children's literature. She is also an artist, frequently illustrating her own books. She also does some stand alone artwork ranging from cartooning, drawings, paintings and silhouettes.
She is the author of the Readers' Favorite 5 star poetry collection, Idle Pursuits––a whimsical journey on the many different aspects of life and poetry. Idle Pursuits has also been described by the San Francisco Book Review as "witty, thoughtful, and...insightful."
She is also the author of the upcoming romantic comedy novel series with a historical twist, Mr. Austen, about a newly divorced, Jane Austen inspired firefighter, turned romance writer in order to make sense of love and relationships. Mr. Austen is also illustrated by the author with six new silhouette pictures.
L.P. Kirkbride is also currently working on another historical romantic comedy novel series, Kate Hawkins, about a young woman disguised as a male lieutenant in the British navy during the Napoleonic Wars. Kate Hawkins will also be illustrated by the author.
L.P. Kirkbride holds a bachelor of arts degree in English literature and is a member of The Jane Austen Society of North America. She lives in British Columbia, Canada with her two cats.
