Christian Shimer

Christian Shimer is a producer, strategist, and author focused on how people think, make decisions, and take action—particularly in moments that require trust, clarity, and commitment.

With a background spanning entertainment, media, and nonprofit fundraising, Christian has spent over two decades studying the intersection of storytelling, human behavior, and influence. His work centers on translating complex emotional and psychological dynamics into practical frameworks that help individuals and organizations communicate more effectively.

He is the co-author of Secrets to Big Money Fundraising, which outlines a relationship-based approach to securing transformational gifts, and contributed to the research and development behind Human Predators, an exploration of manipulative behavior patterns and how to recognize them.

In addition, Christian is the author of Secrets to Big Money Using Video: The Art of the Video Case Statement, where he introduces a storytelling framework designed to help nonprofit organizations inspire deeper donor engagement and significantly increase fundraising outcomes.

Before focusing on consulting and authorship, Christian built a career in entertainment as one of the youngest cruise directors in Royal Caribbean International history, followed by work in radio broadcasting and television writing in Hollywood. He later founded a production company dedicated to creating emotionally compelling fundraising films for nonprofit organizations.

Today, his work continues to focus on one central idea:

that the ability to understand people—and communicate with clarity and purpose—is one of the most valuable skills in any field.
