Dr. Doug Corrigan has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, a master’s degree in Engineering Physics (concentration in Solid State Physics), and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics with a minor in Electrical Engineering.
As a NASA Graduate Fellow, he worked with NASA on a series of microgravity research studies that flew aboard the Space Shuttle, as well as with the Department of Energy doing research on new materials. He then switched into the life sciences and launched a biotechnology company that developed novel drug-discovery tools.
Dr. Corrigan is an avid innovator. He has developed concepts for new medical devices, 3D printing technologies, cellular assays, nanotechnologies, sensors, and new materials, among many others. Dr. Corrigan has competed against a pool of 350,000 engineers and scientists from around the world and won commercial licenses for further development of ~30 of these technologies. For these awards, he was named a Super Solver for 2 consecutive years.
