Karen Haining

Glasgow born Karen Haining grew up with heartache and poverty. Her parents separated when she was just four years old, and what followed was a childhood of disappointments as her mother and stepfather descended into a life of alcohol and debt. But Karen used the power of her imagination to escape her reality and dream of a better life for herself. Today, Karen is a qualified nurse, a wife and mother, and a Christian. Her inspiration to write The Adventures of Hilary Hickenbottham came from her early experiences, plus her personal encounter with Jesus Christ.
