Marcelline Thomson explored realms unknown through books before traveling the world beyond her small Midwest town. Not surprising then that her widely praised novel, Dreaming of Oranges, is based on an adventure in the Middle East, involving intrigue, danger, a passionate love affair and the enduring bond of friendship between two young women.

In her new book, Stories I Want to Tell You, we meet unforgettable characters she encounters—rogues, rakes, heroes and heroines—on a journey of continuing adventures. Beginning with the mischief and charm of growing up in that small town in a family of storytellers, there’s the college romance with a Broadway bound actor, an impetuous marriage, a year of living uncertainly in Bangkok, the “single girl hustle” in Manhattan, and eventual career with a major corporate and financial public relations firm. Finally, as a fortune cookie promised, love, the only true adventure.

Marcelline now lives with her husband, also a writer, in the Hudson Valley.
