From secretary to caregiver, a profession I'm better suited for, thanks to caring for my mother as a kid. Now a retired caregiver who patiently waited for retirement to write. My desire? To inspire, educate, and delight. And as I waited and cared for many, I jotted down notes about the resilient elders I cared for. Little did I realize a book was taking shape, a book about how to be with people so that they come to life, and thrive rather than just survive. The gift of retirement is the time to write, and so my first book, "Whooz My Friend" was born, a children's book for new readers, that shows children they always have a friend, starting with themselves. And then, more recently, "The Brilliant Caregiver" where everything I learned about caregiving came to life, a book filled with delightful yet powerful short stories about the elders I worked for, who taught me how to care and revitalize them, information I'm excited to pass on to you, dear Caregiver. Use the wisdom in this book and become a catalyst for change, a caregiver who is in a valued occupation, held in high regard, well paid and celebrated!
