Bob Chase is a habitual storyteller with a strong interest in motorcycle racing history. Looking back much more often than forward, and never taking anything too seriously, the tales may often take the scenic route rather than the interstate, but they never stray too far from the main point. Minnesota and 1970s and 80s Motocross are his favorite topics, but other decades and subjects make appearances as well.
Growing up in a not-yet-suburban area of Minnesota, he discovered dirt bikes in the mid-70s and pursued racing hard into the 80s, topping out at mid-pack Open Expert. When he returned to racing decades later, he was much more involved outside the track. He founded the MXBob website in the early 2000s. From 2001 through 2010, he was a regular District 23 Vet class competitor and board member, a motorcycle club member, and an active contributor to Cycle News and Cycle USA. His current website is TriumphBob.
After several decades working as a computer programmer, he left that long-renamed profession for good in 2023. He is an active member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association and is occasionally spotted riding on the back roads of the Southwest.
