Timothy Hoffelder

Timothy Hoffelder spent his childhood between southwestern Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh and northeast Indiana near the Michigan border. Always fascinated by interpersonal relationships and expression, he began studying foreign languages at a young age. His education in Linguistics, African Languages, and TESOL has taken him to places like Zanzibar, France, and Namibia, but while writing his first novel 'Who Only Looks at the Sea,' Timothy was based in the West Town area of Chicago, IL. Currently, he is based in Eastern Rwanda.

He is also an educator and has experience teaching English, Swahili, and French to learners of all ages. His enduring passions are for education, storytelling, and the places where they intersect. Timothy is a firm believer in the power of that intersection to enable individuals' autonomy and even change transgenerational cycles of poverty. This theme is present in much of his work. His other passions include, but are not limited to, peanut butter and swimming in the ocean.
