When her husband Mike was stricken with Alzheimer’s, Rosalys searched the bookshelves for a “couple’s guide” that would show couples how to deal with Mike’s illness together at home. Unable to find that book, she came back after her husband’s death from Alzheimer’s to write it herself. Mike & Me draws on ten years of her journal notes along with her unique background in birth and family education. Rosalys Peel is a Registered Nurse, a Lamaze-certifed childbirth educator, and a Gotman-certifed couples’ relationship facilitator. For over 30 years she has been a respected voice in the childbirth education movement. She currently teaches classes at Swedish Medical Center in Seatle and has been a featured guest on NPR and The Today Show. Rosalys lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington, near her children and grand children, just a brief ferry ride from Seattle. She remains a tireless teacher, writer and speaker, and a caring advocate for Alzheimer’s couples everywhere.
