This author page covers books for Sharon Eby / Sharon Buydens / Sharon Cornet (same author, different last names).
Am happily writing books on numerous topics and genres, from passive solar energy projects to Bigfoot and UFOs, short stories, and more. My newest book, Bigfoot Beyond Belief, was published in early 2021 and is an cultural anthropological study about what people believe about Bigfoot, written under my name "Sharon Eby" (my maiden name). A previously published work is a short story titled The Witness: Hominins' Cave (June 2020) under "Sharon Cornet".
With the exception of my first compilation book (Passive Solar Energy House Projects), most of my solar and home design books were written under the name "Sharon Buydens", including how-to solar energy topics such as solar ovens, solar water distillers, passive solar home design, alternative construction ideas and green building design for owner-builders, tiny house CORE design for those on a frugal budget, and even photobooks.
I research and write for a living, including for clients in business, real estate, content writing for websites, helping students proofread their papers or organize their thesis papers. My background includes writing articles and editing newsletters for the El Paso Solar Energy Association (now defunct) and being on the Board of Directors in the early 1990's and 2000's (other positions include Secretary, Vice-President, and President (2001)). I was also on the Board of Directors for Solar Nova Scotia (2018). My background also includes working in administrative positions, including office management and project management. I also edit books for others and have ghost-written books. I have pen names, but do not promote these. I also have experience in real estate investing with multi-family properties and am involved in designing and building (with my partner) permaculture forest gardens and passive solar homes in a retirement community/ecovillage on my property in Nova Scotia.
I grew up with an interest in all-things-different... unique people and places, the paranormal, UFOs, cryptozoology (Bigfoot, etc.), ghosts, magick, earth energies and mysteries, spiritual gifts and shamanism, and so on. I have experienced numerous UFO sightings (4 of 5 with witnesses) and became a ufologist in the mid-90s, specializing in the alleged alien abduction phenomena with a focus on physical evidence. Was a co-facilitator for the El Paso MUFON meetings for two years in the early 2000's. In 2001 my family and I were camping when my son and nephew witnessed a Bigfoot, which prompted me to engage in Bigfoot field research, which 20 years later evolved into enough information that I wrote the first of a 3-book series on the topic of Bigfoot belief, Bigfoot researchers, and Bigfoot-and-UFOs, respectively.
I have a BA in Social Science with Anthropology specialization (UAGC), and a Certificate in Applied Anthropology (UTEP). My field of expertise is cultural anthropology and applied anthro. Past projects include surveys in colonias (rural unincorporated communities that lack infrastructure) to help bring in city water through non-profit endeavors involving local, state, and federal support efforts. More recent projects included the ethnographic research for Bigfoot believers.
I have future plans for books in different genres and topics, possibly including novels and children's books.
