Alison A Birks

Alison A. Birks, MS, AHG, CNS, LDN is a native of Connecticut, a newly published children’s author with 20+ years of experience as a free lance writer in the natural health and wellness industry. She has worked as a Nutritionist & Herbalist in private practice for most of her adult working life after many years of being a stay at home mom to her two children. She has a BA from the College of the Atlantic, an MS degree in Human Nutrition, and a 6th year (post Masters) certificate in Education with a concentration in Secondary Science/ Biology. Alison has worked as a public speaker, a classroom teacher, a tutor, an online instructor, an entrepreneur, and curriculum developer. She loves to cook, garden and make things with her hands. She finds inspiration in nature, and also designs and sells handcrafted jewelry under the ABDesignsBoutique brand on Etsy. When she isn’t working on a project, Alison spends most of her free time in the woods foraging for edible and medicinal plants / mushrooms, bird watching and walking her dog.
