GLEN OLIVES

Glen Olives Thompson is a U.S. Army veteran, and currently a professor of U.S. and Canadian law at La Salle University in Chihuahua, Mexico. Glen took his undergraduate degree at California State University, Chico, in social science, summa cum laude, and his law degree at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. His primary research interests lie within the areas of public policy and society. In addition to academic publications, he has written on a broad range of topics for newspapers and magazines in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Professor Olives is passionate about policy issues because, as he says, "This is one area of academic study that directly impinges on everyone's lives -- there's very little theoretical about this discipline, it's where the rubber meets the road. Unfortunately, most of our public policy is completely divorced from sciences, and we tend to rely of folk-wisdom or the policies that the wealth class have paid for." When Glen isn't teaching or writing, he's running or cooking. It's also rumored that he has been known to spend time with his wife and two young children.
