Ben Watford was born in Winton, North Carolina, He now lives in Fairfield Harbour near New Bern, North Carolina with his wife Barbara. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Howard University, Washington DC in 1957. He received his Masters Degree from Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Alabama in 1960. He taught Chemistry at Smithtown High School in St. James, New York. He taught Science Techniques and Elementary Mathematics at Long Island University in the Graduate Education Department as an Associate Professor. He spent one year teaching at the Todee Presbyterian Mission School in Liberia, West Africa. His published works include, "The Coming of the Comet", "A man and a Mule", "The Complete Book of Fussing and Nagging", "A Man, A Mule and a Gun", "James Stanley Jones vs. the Klan", "You Can't Fall of the Floor, co-authored with his life long friend Dudley Flood", "A Brief History of Artist in Eastern North Carolina, co-authored with Jon Derby and Lisa Lentz," "A layman View of Seventy Years of America's Foreign Policy". He is an active potter making pottery on his potter's wheel. He has had several one man shows at Art Galleries in Eastern North Carolina. He is an avid golfer.
