Marc J. Ladin

I am a retired elementary principal with over 35 years experience in urban and suburban schools in RI and CT.

I am a strong advocate of the need to teach children about the dangers of bullying and how children can get help to feel safe again. I have presented workshops for children and parents that stress the importance of speaking up and taking responsibility for getting help as the victim of bullying and as the bystander. I have published two children’s books. One of them is about bullying.

I am retired from the US Army Reserve, having served 24 years and retiring as a Major. I presently serve on the board of Touro Synagogue in Newport, RI, and I also served on the board of Congregation Beth David in Narragansett, RI. I have been a sailor for over 35 years and received my Captain’s License ten years ago. I have since chartered sailboats in the British Virgin Islands, and now sail my Endeavour 35 out of Jamestown, RI.

I have traveled to Costa Rica, British Virgin Islands, Paris, Antwerp, Italy, Amsterdam, S. Korea, Panama, and Israel.

I am the father of five grown children with 7 grandchildren and I am an avid sailor, potter, gardener, and photographer. I like to hike, kayak, and play the guitar. I live in West Kingston, Rhode Island with my wife Miriam and our two cats.
