Karl Langer began writing poetry, short stories, and plays as a teenager, but stopped abruptly at the age of 20. He realized he just didn't know anything—really—and focused his energies on personal development.
In the following decade, he ran a small business, worked with at risk youth, served on a non-profit board, and produced and acted in theatre and film. In his thirties, he began his career as a teacher and, finally, came back around to writing.
Karl Langer currently teaches a reading program in Oakland, CA. He has written books, plays, and short stories for youth. His writing is thoughtful and heartfelt with a pinch of surreality.
