Cynthia Rinear Bethune was born in Fairbanks, Alaska and raised on a homestead near to town. That sounds more rustic than it really was, as by her time, the family had electricity, running water, and even a telephone.
By the time she became an avid reader in her early teens, she wanted to write. After “inheriting” the old house and several acres of land when she was 17, priorities became practical and she had to work. Writing became a dream and an occasional hobby, and it was not until she was home raising her two children that she began to write for publication. After freelance feature writing for several years, and inadvertently ghostwriting the memoir of a local politician, she turned back to writing fiction.
Since publishing The Family Tree in December 2016, she has retired from the day job. Her "first" novel, Brendan’s Cross, was published in May 2018. First novel because she has been working on it since 1993! Visit her author Facebook page or message at: https://www.facebook.com/authorCynthiaRinear/
