Laura Marie Steinert

Laura is a person of rivers, forests, and deserts. She grew up in the irrigated desert of the Yakima River Valley, escaped to the Willamette Valley, where she graduated Oregon State University, then moved to “the Valley of the Sun” in Arizona where the rivers are seasonal. For a short time, she was fortunate to live and work in the Hai River Valley in the city of Tianjin, PRC. Her last adventure was to live in the irrigated desert of the Lower Rio Grande Valley just six miles from the border. She finally has settled down to a forested homestead in the foothills overlooking the Snoqualmie River Valley.

Her small acreage is now home to rescued dogs, goats, ducks, geese, and chickens. Unfortunately, it is also home to a flock of guineas. When she is not doing chores, she is a voracious reader with a lifetime of science fiction, Women’s literature, police procedurals and cozy mysteries packed solid in her whole-room library, with a massive shelf of to-be-read books in her office.
