Timothy James Riley

Timothy James Riley grew up in a rural farming community in central California. His father owned a sporting goods store, his mother first managed, then owned her own small chain of women's clothing boutiques, and his sister, Jeannine, enjoyed a successful career in the television and movie industry.

Riley himself spent forty-five years in sales and marketing management. He served as president of the local service club, the chamber of commerce, and the Far West Equipment Dealers Association.

Retiring in 2016, he has devoted his time to writing, fly-fishing and a little golf. He first wrote and published a self-help book, I’m Lettin’ Go…But I Ain’t Giving Up in 1998. His next book, They Call Him Skinner, was published in 2017 and is the first part in a young adult trilogy based on his father’s struggles as a newspaper boy in the wild and wooly mining town of Butte, Montana in the 1920's. Part two is scheduled for late 2020. His latest offering, another historical fiction book is titled Being First, Comes Second and was published in June 2020
