Each winter Fay's childhood family piled into their sedan and pulled a house trailer on two-lane roads from North Dakota to Arizona. This seasonal adventure along with boarding school and farm life, opened new worlds for her and her five siblings. College education, marriage, teaching, children, church volunteer work, reading and quilting shaped her. As a lay volunteer she created children's messages coordinated with the sermon for use during multi-generational worship. The people loved Harvey, the stories' main character, even sending him mail. The best of Harvey can be found in "Sunday Stories, Everyday Lessons." Each one-page story includes the Scripture reference on which the story illuminating the way this Scripture "lives" in Harvey's life is based. An appropriate prayer follows, providing starters for conversation with kids about things that matter.
Fay is now an ordained minister serving as Associate Pastor at Gold Canyon UMC in Arizona.
